Jasper Sage Donner is a printmaker originally from the Bay Area, CA. Currently living and working in Providence, RI,  she is on track to complete a BFA in printmaking at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Her practice centers on the fundamental possibilities and restraints of different materials; how the limitations of a medium can guide its transformation and interaction. Working with a wide range of materials and processes, she draws from a visual library of shape language, creating work that accentuates and replicates the natural aesthetic features of wood, metal, and paper. Favoring copper etching and found materials, Jasper’s work highlights the repetition in the processes of creation, mirroring the repetition of modern life and landscapes. The shapes, signage, and motifs of urban streets, as well as the quiet architecture of rural northern California, inspire her work. Through these varied landscapes, she illustrates the essence of inhabited spaces and homes, showing how a combination of form, texture, and color tells the story of different environments and atmospheres.
